Best Muhurats in a Day

Below are the best types of Muhurats a day has so you can perform various tasks auspiciously.

Choghadiya Muhurat

Choghadiya Muhurat is the best time to begin something new. In Indian astrology, each period of 3.75 Ghats or one and a half hours is called a Choghadiya. Astrologers divide the day and night into eight equal parts to calculate Choghadiya. These divisions can be auspicious or inauspicious depending on the day of the week and time. Moreover, the first Choghadiya of any day is decided based on the ruling deity of that day.

For example, on a Wednesday, the first Wednesday Choghadiya is ruled by Mercury. The prevailing lord of the Choghadiya decides whether it is good or bad. Moreover, the favorable Choghadiyas are Shub, Labh, and Amrit. The unfavorable Choghadiyas include Rog, Kal, and Udveg.

Brahma Muhurat

Brahma Muhurat is the last quarter of the night, anywhere between 3:30 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., depending on the time of sunrise. It is the best time to perform meditation or yoga because during this time your body is in a conducive condition and it naturally produces melatonin which is a mood stabilizer that keeps you happy and healthy.

Abhijit Muhurat

Abhijit Muhurat is a 48-minute-long auspicious time during midday. For example, suppose sunrise is at 6 a.m. and sunset is at 6 p.m. Then, the Abhijit Muhurat will begin 24 minutes before midday, i.e., around 11:40 a.m., and end 24 minutes after midday, i.e., approximately 12:20 p.m. This period can destroy several doshas and is one of the best Mahurats to start a new work.

However, please note that Abhijit Muhurat is unsuitable on Wednesdays, as it is a malefic Muhurat on that day. Moreover, Manglik activities such as Upanayana and marriages are best avoided in Abhijit Muhurat.
